Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2020-01-19

We at Amazing GmbH ("we" or "us") are a Swiss company, and as such are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy during your use of Amazing Marvin (the "Service"): consisting of amazingmarvin.com (the “Website”), and our applications (“Apps”). This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) sets forth the basis on which any personal information we collect from you in connection with the Service will be processed by us. Please read it carefully to understand how we collect and use your personal information.

Information we may collect from you

We may collect and process the following information about you:

  • Your Email Address, for managing your account, sending you invoices, and periodically sending you information and offers in our Newsletter (unless you opt out by unsubscribing).
  • Device Information (e.g. operating system version, IP address, browser version, and device type) and information collected via analytics tools, for the purpose of improving the Service and understanding our users.
  • Your tasks and other app data, for the purpose of syncing your data among all the devices you use to access the Service (unless you opt out by disabling Cloud Sync).
  • When you initially provide or update your payment information, we transmit it securely to our Payment Processor, Stripe. Stripe uses and processes your payment information in accordance with their Privacy Policy (see https://stripe.com/privacy/). We don’t store payment information, other than your zip code and country, which we require for billing and to comply with tax and other government regulations.

Confidentiality, Security, and Cross-Border Data Transfer

The security of your personal information is important to us. We follow generally accepted standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both in transit (Amazing Marvin is HTTPS-only) and at rest. Your basic account information, such as email address and bcrypt-hashed password, is stored securely within Google's App Engine Datastore (see https://cloud.google.com/security/). Your tasks and other app data are stored securely within IBM Cloudant's DBaaS (see https://cloudant.com/product/cloudant-features/dbaas-security/). Your credit card information is handled securely by Stripe (see https://stripe.com/docs/security/stripe). Your email address is stored by our partners for the purpose of sending you emails in our Newsletter. If you have any questions about the security of your personal information, you can contact us at contact@amazingmarvin.com. Except as described in this Privacy Policy, we do not disclose your personal information to any third party without your specific consent.

As Stripe, IBM Cloudant, and Google AppEngine use servers in the USA, if you do not live in the USA, then your personal data is transferred to a country that may have fewer data protection guarantees than your own. In this case you may wish to disable Cloud Sync in your Marvin settings, since then only very basic information about you will ever leave your computer, let alone your country.

Analytics/Tracking

We may use analytics to track:

  • Which site referred you to the Service
  • How long you use the Service
  • Information about your computer
  • Basic information about how you use the Service, e.g. which strategies you activate

We collect this information via our analytics partners to see how you use the Service in order to improve it. Your IP address is anonymized and no identifying information (such as your name or email address) is provided to analytics partners.

We use tracking technologies on our Website (https://amazingmarvin.com) to identify and target potential customers for advertisements. If you came to our Website by clicking on an advertisement, then it may also be tracked in our Apps if/when you become a customer. This helps us to know which advertisement campaigns are effective. If you did not find Amazing Marvin through an advertisement, then this tracking is completely disabled.

Use of your email address

When you sign up for the Service, your email address is added to our Newsletter mailing list, which we use to send periodic updates and offers. Each email sent in this way contains an unsubscribe link, which you can use to opt out of the Newsletter.

We may also contact you personally in regards to your use of the Service, for example if there are problems with your subscription payment and your account is in danger of being canceled.

Cookies

We use cookies to recognize you when you use the Service. This means that you don’t have to login each time you access the Service.

Other cookies may be stored on your computer for the purpose of running the Service or our analytics tools, as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy.

Data Removal

You can completely delete your account in your account settings.

We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy, and when we do so, we will also revise the Effective Date. Any changes to our Privacy Policy will always be available here. Please be sure to check back here from time to time to ensure that you are aware of any changes to this Privacy Policy. Any material changes to this Privacy Policy will be communicated to registered users by email and/or a notice of the change on the Website.
